Catching the "Summer Breeze"

Hello everyone! Summer is officially in full swing, and allow me to share the story behind my creation: the "Summer Breeze" sticker sheet.

Every design starts with a single spark of inspiration, and this one has been a heartwarming journey of capturing the essence of a cozy, traditional summer day.

The Spark: Furin

At first, I just wanted to create Japanese wind charms with different summer elements on them. There is something so magical about the gentle, glassy chime of a furin hanging on a porch during a warm afternoon. I wanted to design these glass bells adorned with classic seasonal motifs like vibrant sunflowers, goldfish swimming gracefully, cool watermelons, and blooming hydrangeas.

Adding the Classic Touch: Uchiwa

As I kept creating, the collection naturally evolved. Japanese fans felt like an essential addition, especially because they are an absolute must-bring item during hanabi!

Sure, electric fans are much more useful and practical nowadays, but they still can’t beat the timeless elegance and beauty of traditional hand fans. Each fan on the sticker sheet is packed with festive details, from bright summer florals to sparkling festival fireworks.

Completing the Vibe: The Tea Sets

Of course, no relaxing summer afternoon is complete without a peaceful ritual. How could I forget to add a cozy tea set to match the vibe?

Complete with cute wooden trays, steaming cups of tea, seasonal sweets, and intricately painted teapots, these little additions bring the whole scene together, making you feel like you're sitting on a quiet veranda enjoying the breeze.

Crafting for the Future: Collage Clusters

To give you a better idea of how these little pieces come to life on the page, I wanted to showcase how I used the sticker sheet in making collage clusters for future journaling use. Putting together these little layered paper vignettes ahead of time makes setting up a seasonal spread so effortless and fun when inspiration strikes.
